VP Global Communications & Social Responsibility, OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group

 

Monica steers the global communications strategy for OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group’s portfolio of premier beach resorts, driving brand elevation through integrated marketing campaigns, social media, public relations and corporate partnerships. She also oversees OUTRIGGER’s ESG (environment, social, governance) platform and corporate social responsibility initiatives including OUTRIGGER Zone (OZONE) which centers on ocean health and coral reef conservation.

Her career path includes leadership positions at Bennet Group Strategic Communications, Hotel Lanai, XTERRA and University of Hawai‘i Athletics. Monica holds a bachelor’s degree in global and international studies from University of California Santa Barbara and MBA from the University of Hawai‘i. She currently serves on the boards of Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation and Friends of Waikiki Aquarium as well as American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) communications cabinet and sustainability committee. Recent industry recognitions include ‘Woman Who Means Business’ from Pacific Business News and ‘Top 25 Extraordinary Minds’ from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.
