Director of Development, TFE Hotels

An accountant by trade, John Sutcliffe arrived in Australia from his native England in 2014, joining TFE as Financial Controller with responsibility for the finances of the global portfolio of hotels. Two years later, John moved into a commercial role which included the preparation of hotel refurbishment and F&B opportunity feasibilities, asset managing TFE’s owned hotels and leading a number of business efficiency projects across the network.

In 2019, John took an opportunity to utilise his financial, legal, commercial, and operational skills, joining TFE Hotel’s in house development team. As Director of Development, he is responsible for identifying and assessing new hotel operating opportunities for all brands across Australia and New Zealand, and project manages everything from commercial terms and legal documentation to technical requirements to ensure optimal value continues to be delivered to our hotel owners.

Excited about the future, John believes that TFE Hotels has never been in a stronger position, with interest around our new brands gaining momentum with developers. And, with the repositioning of our existing brands, John believes that TFE is well placed to continue its growth trajectory through our ability to provide leading commercial value to our hotel owners.
