Professional Milestones
1994: Founded Stonewood Group
1997: Purchased his first commercial property 2004: Built and opened his first hotel
2020: Achieved significant milestones with the completion of Oaks Wellington and Pullman Rotorua hotel projects.
2022: Expanded the group’s horizon with Microtel by Wyndham Wellington and the inception of Stonewood Key Capital in partnership with Rt Hon Sir John Key (former NZ Prime Minister).
2023: Launched the first Private Equity firm in Hainan, China with Sir John Key, with a strategic QFLP/QDLP license, catalyzing cross-border investment opportunities.

Sustainability Vision
Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit extends to the environmental sector, where he has acquired two solar farms in New Zealand, boasting a capacity of 200MW. His vision is to scale this venture to 1GW of solar farms within five years, contributing to the global fight against climate change and advocating for renewable energy.
