James Shields

General Manager – Growth & Capital Strategy, The Ascott Limited-Australia

James started his career with Ernst & Young in Melbourne, where he worked in the assurance advisory services and corporate finance divisions. Following this, James worked with global financial advisory group Rothschild & Co as an Associate Director within the mergers and acquisitions group, in the investment banking division, in both London and Melbourne.

In 2013, James joined Quest Apartment Hotels and today holds the position of General Manager of Growth and Capital Strategy. In his role James is responsible for managing the Group’s capital and transformation (integration) strategy, and leading origination, and development initiatives.

James holds a commerce degree from Monash University, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
