Portfolio General Manager – FNPF Owned Hotels, IHG Hotels & Resorts

Lachlan Walker serves as the Portfolio General Manager for IHG Hotels & Resorts, overseeing FNPF Owned Hotels in Fiji. With many years in the industry, he brings a wealth of experience and leadership.

In his current role, Lachlan manages some of Fiji’s most iconic hotels, including the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva. These establishments boast a combined total of 509 guest rooms, over 10 Restaurants & Bars, and nearly 15 meetings and events venues.

Lachlan’s international journey in hospitality has taken him through esteemed brands such as Regent Four Seasons Hotels, Park Hyatt, AccorHotels, Starwood, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (IHG), shaping him into a respected and seasoned professional.

Beyond the numbers, Lachlan is known for his commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. An award-winning leader, he was recently recognized with IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director’s Award at the JAPAC (Japan, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific) General Managers Event 2024 in Tokyo, Japan.

At heart, Lachlan is passionate about the environment and has been the driving force behind IHGs Journey To Tomorrow initiatives. Some highlights include reducing 200,000 single-use plastic bottles into landfills each year through an ambitious bulk amenities project, introducing compostable single-use water and coffee cups, partnering with local charities—WOWS Kids Fiji, Fiji Cancer Society, Treasure Homes Nadi, Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MOHMS) and many others through cash and in-kind contributions.

Lachlan Walker sits on the Board of Directors for the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA), a leading industry body representing hotels, resorts, and other tourism stakeholders in Fiji. The FHTA’s primary goal is to encourage and assist the growth and progress of Fiji’s tourism industry. Through his role on the board, Lachlan contributes his extensive expertise and leadership to support the development and sustainability of tourism in Fiji, ensuring that the industry continues to thrive and deliver exceptional experiences to visitors.
